I'm not Catholic but I was born in Mexico and when I was a little girl I loved the processionals that happened before Christmas to honor the Virgin of Guadalupe! It was one of my favorite days. After this begins the Posadas which are also a really wonderful tradition I adored as a child!

I always loved that really she was a combination of the Virgin Mary and of an Indigenous Goddess. The art work that the parade makers did to create her image was always so amazing.
