I was ridiculously well behaved around adults when I was a kid. The kind of child my white glove wearing grandmother would take to tea with her friends and show off. My mom's friends actually told her to bring my brother and I to their parties and art openings and such because we were so polite and well behaved........but when left to our own devices we were often bound to do some crazy shit. When I was a kid in Mexico it was totally normal to let your kids run wild all day long with all the other town kids (Puerto Vallarta was a fairly small town back then) and when we did it was practically Lord of The Flies. We all acted like crazy screaming maniacs and it was OK so long as when we got back home we knew to be polite with our parents and other adults.
